NAR update – Flood Insurance, Tax extenders and more…

On behalf of SVP of Government Affairs at the National Association of REALTORS, Shannon McGhan, I wanted to share this important news:

The House of Representatives voted yesterday on a spending package funding the federal government for fiscal year 2020.  Most importantly for the housing industry, the vote provides funding authorization for the National Flood Insurance Program through September 30, extends various critical tax provisions, and reauthorizes the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization (TRIP) for seven years, a particularly significant victory for NAR’s commercial members.  Here is the link with the results https://www.nar.realtor/newsroom/house-federal-funding-legislation-brings-certainty-stability-to-housing-market?fbclid=IwAR3SOOEgV-QH10UE8QJ27Ok4Ds2eSbjwQ48NJGetcaatIqNGwl-mVNkt7AM
