Effective January 1, 2001 REALTORS® are required to complete REALTORS® Code of Ethics Training of not less than two hours and 30 minutes of instructional time. Each cycle previously ran every four years. As of 2017, Code of Ethics is required every two years.
PLEASE NOTE: The current cycle runs from January 1, 2017 - December 31, 2018. Also, note that this is NOT a State of Rhode Island requirement for license renewal, it is a National Association of REALTORS® requirement for ALL members.
It is your responsibility to make sure your local board/association has record of this.
If you still need to fulfill this requirement, you can do one of the following:
• Take NAR's online version of the course. You will need to create an account (username and password) if you do not already have one.
• Keep an eye out for COE classes at NCBR and RIAR
• Obtain the list of approved Real Estate Schools from the Department of Business REgulations and contact schools in your area for availability of this course.
