Would you like to represent clients in buying or selling Florida property?

Date: April 30, 2018

A new Mutual Recognition Agreement between the states of Rhode Island and Florida will make that process easier. If you are 18 years of age or older, have earned a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold a valid, active real estate license in Rhode Island, you can obtain a license in Florida without being required to complete additional pre-licensing educational requirements. Applicants must submit a completed Florida application for licensure with supporting applicable electronic fingerprint data, documentation, and fees. They must also provide a certified history of their current licensure and good standing in the State of Rhode Island. Broker applicants must have held a valid and current license for 24 months of the five years prior to the date of application.

Other rules also apply. Review this Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation(DBR) bulletin if you are interested in receiving a Florida real estate license.
